Why visit the Sahara Desert?

In the Sahara desert you will live unique experiences, you will see unique landscapes, you will meet different people and cultures (although most of them with a common denominator are Berbers) as you can see everything will be unique, but also majestic, silent, immense.

In the Sahara desert, you will be able to hike ((at the foot of dromedary) and camp under the stars which you will be able to observe better because the sky is pure in the biggest desert of the world and you will continue walking through the majestic dunes or impressive rock formations, alone with yourself in silence, and even achieve a mental clarity that you might be needing.

You will see that the Sahara desert is a place unlike any other place on earth; on the contrary, you can sometimes believe that you have travelled to the moon in the case of the Algerian Sahara.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in his famous book “The Little Prince” said that “the desert is beautiful” and he was right, that’s why you have to visit the Sahara desert at least once in your life.

If you travel with us, “Visit the Sahara” will not treat you as a “tourist with money” and I promise you that we will not take you to a maximum of places to try to sell you “souvenirs”.

The native Berbers often use the word “gaouri” or “roumi” to call those we know as “tourists with many bucks”. It is interesting to know that the term “roumi” has its origins in the times of the intense presence of Rome (roumi/Romans) in this region of North Africa. Although this term “roumi” was later used to refer to the Byzantines.

If you travel with us, “Visit the Sahara” will organise an authentic stay in the Sahara desert for you to live a unique experience, beyond the incredible landscapes where we will take you, to get to know the local culture, history, music and food.

We’ll take good care of you, you’ll see, and we’ll tell you stories, being able to communicate all this information in the language of your choice, Spanish, French or English.

See you soon, inch’allah!
